Principal’s Welcome

School Opening 2016 WELCOME FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome!  St. Raphael Parish School surrounds its Pre-K through 8th Grade students with a vibrant faith community.  The dedicated teachers, staff, volunteers, and families partner on behalf of all students to nurture the understanding that they are loved and valued as children of God.  St. Raphael is a safe school.  This ensures achievement and development of intellectual, spiritual, and social skills in preparation for the next grade-level, competitive secondary schools, and colleges and careers.  At St. Raphael, children develop an appreciation for the dignity of each individual, and an awareness of their responsibly to act with compassion toward all.  The goal is that all in our community function as reflective, life-long learners who contribute to our diverse and ever-changing society.

We have exciting program developments ready for the 2016-2017 School Year.
  • STEM Center: Our Kindergarten through 8th Grade Science Technology Engineering Math Center will open in September, 2016.  Project Lead The Way Curriculum will power student learning opportunities including writing code, robotics, design and modeling and 3-D printing.
  • Pre-K: We have expanded our Pre-K Program!   Starting this Fall, we have four Pre-K classrooms and hot lunches will be served on a daily basis in our new Pre-K dining area also know as Chez Rays!
  • Math:  Our new Pearson enVision K-5 Program will help our students match the tremendous growth our middle school students exhibited last year.  This Common Core aligned program prepares our students for the rigorous high school programs our graduates seek.
  • Expanded student services: We now have a full time Adjustment Counselor along with a second Reading Specialist that will be part of our team to help promote student wellness and intellectual growth.
  • Student Life: Adding to our over 24 clubs and sports, St. Raphael students will be able to participate in co-ed cross country, cheering and football.

I am extremely excited to serve the St. Raphael Parish Community as principal.  Please take time to navigate our web-site; please be sure to click on the Admissions or About Us tabs to view our school profile.   In order to find out more about the St. Raphael School community family,  please call the school office to make an appointment for a tour, and speak with someone in our parish about our exciting programs.  I hope to see you at St. Raphael soon!

Sincerely,

Mark C. Bedrosian, M.Ed.
